myfactor partners with executives, teams and organizations to customize executive coaching and leadership development and alignment solutions.

We work with executives and teams to co-create an individual or organizational development plan to facilitate growth, leveraging 360 interviews and assessments. We believe when a leader amplifies their leadership presence they achieve greater impact for themselves, their teams and their organizations. When a team is aligned with their company values and expectations, there are high levels of trust and support, an unwavering focus on the important things and a commitment to learning and growth.

Our coaching and development approach creates a safe, supportive, encouraging relationship grounded on trust. We believe in collective accountability, which enables us to accomplish tangible coaching outcomes. Our coaching philosophy allows leaders and teams to reflect on their strengths, discover opportunities for growth, and shift their mindset as they practice new behaviors to enhance their leadership presence and team effectiveness.

Michelle Awuku-Tatum - Executive Coach

I have always been fascinated by mysteries. I love decoding situations and analyzing people. As an Executive Coach, I get to do what brings me joy every day conversing with amazing leaders and executives, as we gather clues to help reshape their leadership approach and improve their skills.

I got to use my “detective” skills during my corporate career; creating innovative processes, customer experiences, business strategies and models for global companies in Biotechnology (Lonza), Energy (BP Oil & Gas) and Financial Services (Citigroup). Working with different personalities and cultures in companies that were sometimes slow to embrace change or undergoing rapid transformation, enables me to share lessons learned and relate to what you may be experiencing. Clients will tell you I hold them accountable, collective accountability means that we accomplish brilliant coaching outcomes and stronger, introspective leaders that people actually want to work with.

I am certified as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and as a Leadership Circle Practitioner by The Leadership Circle®. I hold an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelors degree in Process Technology & Management Studies from London South Bank University.

I live in New York City with my husband and my two toughest clients to date, our 12-year and 9-year old daughters.

“Michelle has provided excellent coaching and mediation services to senior executives in our agency. She brings the right balance of active listening and proactive advice to complex business challenges. I would recommend Michelle most highly.”

Michelle’s Coaching Approach

Michelle’s strengths are ingrained in her coaching approach and give you a sense of what it is like to work with her:

  • Let’s face it, coaching is for those who are brave. It is not easy receiving and then reflecting on feedback. I will be with you, celebrating your successes, encouraging you through setbacks and toward your goals, while making sure we have some fun along the way.

  • During our coaching conversations, I love looking for clues and themes to help you connect the dots. These clues and insights help me to organically define our path forward to address the gap between your current version to your desired version of leadership.

  • Coaching is personal and no two leaders are alike. I pay attention to your style, thought process, motivators, environment and context; amongst other things. This enables me to coach you based on your strengths and you to stretch in ways that are in harmony with who you are.

  • I enjoy getting to know you, as we are in this together. Establishing a foundation of trust enables me to challenge you and share my observations in a way that you can hear and act on. Which makes you more open and willing to co-create ideas to help you move forward and achieve your goals.

  • I love learning and curating information and resources, based on your needs and learning style. I share experiential action items, exercises and relevant resources to reinforce your learnings and implementation of desired behavioral changes between coaching sessions.
